John Barwick

John has spent most of his career working in the field of qualifications regulation and curriculum development. He joined the Schools Curriculum and Assessment Authority (SCAA) in 1993 supporting Lord Dearing's review of the National Curriculum and has held various positions in the Qualfications and Curriculum Authority and its predecessor bodies. These have included leading on the development and implementation of qualifications regulations and codes of practice and managing QCA's general qualifications monitoring programme. John's academic background is in political science and he completed a Masters in Political Theory as a part time student at Birkbeck College, University of London.

John is currently Head of the Information and Investigations team at Ofqual.
