Review of awarding bodies' fees executive summary

This report by PKF is a review of awarding bodies' fees. The further education, training and schools sectors have expressed concern about increased spending on fees in recent years. In order to address this issue, the regulators of external qualifications require a greater understanding of awarding body fees to assess how reasonable they are. The report focuses solely on GCSEs and A levels through three streams of work: reasonableness of fees, views of centres, and presentation in a common format.

This document was published by the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority (QCA). The regulatory function of QCA is now the responsibility of the Office of the Qualifications and Examinations Regulator (Ofqual). Ofqual regulates qualifications and monitors national curriculum assessments in England.
