Kathleen Tattersall, Chair of Ofqual, has thanked all those involved in the recent examination series for their efforts to ensure that disruption caused by the adverse weather was kept to a minimum.
She said: "The examination series that started in early January during the heavy snow came to an end this week.
"I would like to place on record my sincere thanks to the candidates, their families, headteachers, college leaders, teachers, examinations officers, caretakers and facilities staff for their hard work and dedication which ensured that despite the problems caused by the weather, examinations went ahead wherever possible.
"I wish all the candidates who sat exams during this series the best of luck with their results."
